Weekly Wedding Trivia - "Wedding Cake"

You definitely want to have fun during your wedding but remember don't smear cake in the face of your spouse during the cake cutting ceremony.  Your spouse might not like it. After all, he/she went through a lot of preparation to look fantastic for you on your wedding day.

The symbolism of the bride and groom feeding wedding cake to each other has religious roots. This represents the sharing of their body to become one.  A Biblical example of this symbolism can be found in the Lord's Supper.

Weekly Wedding Trivia!

According the Greek culture, if the bride tucks a sugar cube into her glove the sugar will sweeten the marriage union.  The English believe that a spider found in a wedding dress is good luck.  Egyptian women pinch the bride on her wedding day for good luck.  In Czech weddings the guests throw peas (instead of rice) for good luck..  So that she'll never do without, a Swedish bride will put a silver coin from Dad and a gold coin from the Mom in each shoe.  Middle Eastern brides paint henna on their hands and feet to keep the evil eye away.
