Weekly Wedding Trivia

The wedding rings are circles that represent eternal love and devotion.  The Greeks believed that the fourth finger on the left hand has a vein that leads right to the heart.  This became the modern tradition of placing wedding bands on the left hand, 4th finger.

Spotlight - Embassy Suites

What an amazing venue! I was invited to the Christmas luncheon hosted by Embassy Suites last week.  This is the perfect place for a wedding, reception, rehearsal dinner, or even a bridal luncheon.  The main entrance is surrounded with palm trees, tropical plants, and has a beautiful stream running through the hotel.  There are two ballroom spaces available to accommodate groups of all sizes and each decorated in warm palette colors that would accentuate any wedding color.
Just one of the many tables set up with food and drinks.

Weekly Wedding Trivia - "Wedding Cake"

You definitely want to have fun during your wedding but remember don't smear cake in the face of your spouse during the cake cutting ceremony.  Your spouse might not like it. After all, he/she went through a lot of preparation to look fantastic for you on your wedding day.

The symbolism of the bride and groom feeding wedding cake to each other has religious roots. This represents the sharing of their body to become one.  A Biblical example of this symbolism can be found in the Lord's Supper.

Weekly Wedding Trivia!

According the Greek culture, if the bride tucks a sugar cube into her glove the sugar will sweeten the marriage union.  The English believe that a spider found in a wedding dress is good luck.  Egyptian women pinch the bride on her wedding day for good luck.  In Czech weddings the guests throw peas (instead of rice) for good luck..  So that she'll never do without, a Swedish bride will put a silver coin from Dad and a gold coin from the Mom in each shoe.  Middle Eastern brides paint henna on their hands and feet to keep the evil eye away.
